Howlers Comedy Club: A Cheltenham Institution

After a long-awaited return in September 2021, Howlers Comedy Club is back and funnier than ever! Since our launch in 2005, we’ve built a reputation for spotting rising stars before they hit the big time. Comedy greats like Sarah Millican, Tom Allen, Jon Richardson, and Romesh Ranganathan all took to our stage long before becoming household names. Now, we’re thrilled to begin the next chapter of our story with a monthly residency at the Cheltenham Playhouse Theatre—undoubtedly the best performance space in town for live stand-up.

After the challenges of lockdown, we’re delighted to bring you regular nights of top-tier comedy in an incredible venue. Plus, unlike previous Howlers shows, seating is now allocated—so you get to choose whether to embrace the front row experience or play it safe! The Playhouse is fully licensed, meaning you can take your drinks to your seat, sit back, and enjoy a night packed with laughter.

House Rules

We want you to have an unforgettable night at Howlers! To keep the comedy rolling smoothly, we ask all guests to follow these simple rules:

  • No persistent heckling
  • No mobile phone use during the show
  • No talking while comedians are on stage

A great comedy night relies on an engaged audience, so please ensure these rules suit your group before booking. Persistent rule-breakers may be asked to leave without a refund.

Important Information

  • Flashing Lights: Brief use of flashing lights may occur during the show, which could affect those with epilepsy or photosensitive conditions.
